AEPS
Aadhaar Enabled Payment System
Instant, card-less banking powered by Aadhaar and a fingerprint — authenticated against UIDAI and routed through the NPCI network to the customer's own bank.
Banking at the fingertips of every Indian — no card, no branch, no PIN.
AEPS lets any customer withdraw cash, check balance, get a mini statement or transfer money using only their Aadhaar number and fingerprint. A verified agent uses a biometric micro-ATM to authenticate the customer directly against UIDAI, routed over the NPCI network to the customer's own bank — settling in real time.

eKYC & Best-Finger Detection

Transaction flow
How a single AEPS transaction travels
Every request is authenticated against UIDAI and routed through NPCI to the customer's own bank — end to end in seconds.
Approved response flows back Bank → NPCI → NextGenPay → Micro-ATM, and the agent dispenses cash or prints the receipt.
Step by step
The lifecycle of an AEPS request
- 01
Customer initiates
The customer chooses a service, enters their Aadhaar number and selects their bank at the agent's micro-ATM.
- 02
Biometric capture
A certified RD-service scanner captures the fingerprint and instantly encrypts it into a secure PID block.
- 03
UIDAI authentication
NPCI forwards the encrypted request to UIDAI, which verifies the identity and returns a Yes/No response.
- 04
Bank processing
On success, NPCI routes to the customer's bank via its IIN, which validates the balance and authorises the debit.
- 05
Settlement & receipt
Cash is dispensed or the balance/statement shown, and a digital receipt with a reference number is generated.
Security & compliance
Built on the same rails that regulate Indian banking
Encrypted PID block
Biometric data is encrypted at capture and never stored — it travels only as a UIDAI-compliant PID block.
Two-factor by design
Aadhaar number plus live fingerprint act as inherent two-factor authentication for every transaction.
RD-service devices
Only UIDAI-registered biometric devices with Registered Device service are used, preventing replay attacks.
NPCI-routed
All traffic is switched over the regulated NPCI network, with interoperability across participating banks.
